In 1990 Mindata acquired the titles formerly published by Ormonde and
these are incorporated in this website.
MEDIA
EXCHANGE COMMITMENT
However, should any of our titles be subsequently published in electronic
or digital media, Mindata undertakes to accept return of microform editions
for credit towards editions in the new medium.
CAPTIONS
Identification of individual images can present a problem to microform
users; all Mindata pictorial monochrome microfiche include caption or
reference details on each frame. Typical of the information given is:
name of artist, title and description of work, dimensions, museum or gallery
reference number, negative number. Mindata microfilm images include frame
reference numbers keyed to printed indexes.
INDEXES
Where appropriate, a printed index and table of contents is provided with
each microform collection. Artist indexes are in alphabetical order while
the decorative arts are usually filmed in chronological order by type
of object, grouped separately by country. Buildings and monuments are
indexed topographically.
PRESENTATION
Microfiche have an eye-legible title strip with sequential numbering,
and eye-legible title frames. Many microfiche collections are presented
in A4 library ring binders, with fiche in slotted panels. This makes
for convenience in use and in locating and replacing individual fiche.
Where binders are not provided, fiche are supplied in individual acid-free
envelopes. Microfilm reels are supplied in labelled boxes.

DETAILS OF INDIVIDUAL TITLES
This website inevitably gives only brief information for each title. Comprehensive
and mainly illustrated brochures are available for most titles and will
gladly be sent on request.
PHOTOGRAPHS
All Mindata monochrome pictorial microfiche and microfilm images incorporate
a negative number, or means by which a reproduction-quality print can
be ordered.
MUSEUM & GALLERY REFERENCES
Additional information on any of the hundreds of thousands of items reproduced
in these micropublications can be sought from the institution holding
the original, quoting the reference on each frame.
IMAGE QUALITY
Most of the microfiche illustrations were filmed from high-quality photographic
prints, allowing considerable enlargement of the fiche image. Others,
and all the microfilm images, were filmed from the original drawings,
watercolours, engravings and etchings.

MICROFORM
STANDARDS
Monochrome microfiche are silver-halide positive duplicates of archival
quality. They conform to international standards and may be read on any
viewer designed to accept 105mm x 148mm microfiche, fitted with an 18x
- 24x lens. Colour fiche use film stock having exceptional resolving power
and have the same permanence as colour slides. Microfilm is 35mm unperforated
silver-halide stock, of archival quality and positive image. Microforms
found to be physically sub-standard will be replaced at no charge.
PRICES & TERMS OF BUSINESS
Prices shown are in US$. Prices will be maintained for as long as possible
but are subject to change without notice. Prices in the EU are subject
to Value Added Tax. Non-institutional orders must be pre-paid; pre-paid
orders will be shipped free of charge. Orders are normally mailed by
air parcel post, avoiding customs formalities. Orders should be posted
or e-mailed to our address in Bath.
